The Artful Dollhouse
in Photo Album Box
Memories Snug
This can either be made as a personalised gift or
as a dollhouse miniature piece with generic
photos and portraits included.
This tiny snug room is 1:12 scale and built inside
a photo album storage box.
The largest side has a section removed and
replaced with a lovely mahogany stained laser
cut wooden surround.
In the opposite wall a small laser cut arched
window is installed.
On the small open end, where the photo albums
previously slid into, is a full sized window wall
with top trim. The window slides out from the
side so as to enable a better view of the room if
you wish.
Beneath the arched window is a small mahogany
stained bench with laser cut trim and a padded
velvet cushion with silk fringe. A lady sits here
surrounded by her memories…her letters and
photographs, records and portraits hanging on
the walls.
The wooden floorboards are also mahogany
stained and the rooms wallpaper is in a shabby
distressed looking pink damask style.
A battery operated LED chandelier hangs from the ceiling
and there are two wood beams giving the impression of a
vaulted ceiling.
A mahogany shelf on the right holds a photo album filled
with old pictures, a vintage memory box filled with all
manner of goodies such as letters, certificates and photos,
and a box of gramaphone records. Loose photos fill the
drawer and are scattered on the shelf.
Also included is a painted chalk pink candelabra with clay candles and
little paper roses, along with a small metal photo frame.
On the floor near the large window is a little mahogany shelf with drawer,
holding a vintage box and photo frame. The box contains a stack
of tied up envelopes. Some envelopes contain letters.
The box measures 2.7 cm x 2.1 cm.
The room measures 17 cm w, 27.5 cm h and 10 cm d.
The parts which are able to be personalised are the photographs
in two of the photo albums and the pictures in all the wall
portraits.
